
Teaching
Aaron graduated with a Bmus(Hons) from the prestigious Trinity Laban conservatoire of Music and Dance, where he studied Classical and acoustic guitar. Aaron took up guitar at the age of 9 at school and later went on to study at Peter Symond's College in Winchester and CYM (Centre for Young Musicians) in London.
Aaron is a keen performer and teacher of many styles, whilst studying classical guitar he is an avid folk musician and well known in the traditional folk music scene as a Guitar, Button Accordion and Fiddle player, having performed in concerts, ceilidhs, operas, weddings, musicals and festivals in the UK and abroad. He also plays with UK Folk-Rock band Man The Lifeboats on Mandolin and button accordion.
With a wide range of knowledge when it comes to performing, Aaron is comfortable teaching many styles from classical and jazz to folk music and blues.
Aaron is a young and vibrant teacher with eight years of continuous teaching and a 100% pass rate for all students entered in to exams. All lessons are tailored to the individual with a particular focus on learning songs by artists and bands that the student is most interested in. Aaron can push a student to the best of their capabilities but also recognises that learning for enjoyment is often the end goal.
Aaron has a vast knowledge of classical and acoustic repertoire and uses a combination of studies/ exercises and pieces in his teaching. He places a particular emphasis on effective practice so that each student is equipped with the skills they need to constantly reflect on their practice and playing in order to keep progressing.
Aaron's approach to teaching is one of development and achievement through the fun of music. Whether you wish to take grades or just learn for fun, All needs are catered for.
